Anyone thought about doing NaNO this year?

For once I was thinking of not doing it, but then I got an idea of a plot. hehe so yes I will be doing it this year.

7 weeks or so, to plot, plan, stress and stock up on coffee.

Oh good god, is it that soon already?? My muscles really aren't limbered up enough for NaNo this year... maybe next? Now if only they had a Half-NaNo I'd be totally in!

Are there any details on when it starts/what to do?

Hey Xenagab - I have been thinking about it, but will make a decision next month.  I have had a lot on lately.

viktor, it happens every november 1-30th. You have to write 50,000  words in that time  www.nanowrimo.org

If you want you can add me as a buddy, xengab is my log in there too. I will happily help/encourage/cheer for others.

Hubby has already preordered a video game so he has something to do during that month, guess he assumed I'd be once again occupied.

I am going to be doing a paranormal horror. Thinking of doing it either short story style (10,000 words per plot arc) or choose your own adventure.

My basic plot is, Home Invesigators that ghost/demon/spirit hunters that tour houses before people buy them so they know it is spook free. (hold on that works as a title).

It wont be just one house, it will be around 5 houses, hence the short story idea or choose your own adventure style.

PLUS I will be finishing my SoCNoC. Too much utter horrid stress in my life caused me to stop writing for several weeks.  So NaNO will be my starting to write again time.

I shall also be doing clay models for my characters because I am that insane..LOL

I'm thinking about it - I've never tried before, but 50,000 sounds like a lot in one busy month like November!! How do people find the time?

Sacha, it is all about time management etc.  Work out what your typing speed is (how many words a minute) then work out how many words you need to do a day (about 1667) then you do a simple calculation to see how long it will take you to write your average for each day - generally between 30 - 60 minutes - so an hour a day at the most.  With your busy life, writing at night when they are all in bed would probably be your best option!  :o)

I wasn't going to but I've changed my mind. I've made a list of story ideas and I plan to pick one by the start of October, spending the rest of the month planning it out.

I'm doing it--I do it every year and there's no way I'd stop now even if it's going to be kind of rough with exams/moving/travel and more. I have a plot, although it needs a lot of additional thought and planning before I attempt to write it.
