Greetings from sunny Tararua.

Name: Lifta

Location: Tararua

Genre: Kids fiction

Work in progress: Just started my 2nd chapter book, the first one is off doing the submission rounds (gibber, twitch). Before that I've been writing short daft stories, I've had a few published in the junior school journal :) Anyone else out there a kids writer?

What else do you do?: Parent, work part-time, plant trees! I spend way too much time reading and way too little dusting ;)

Name*: Louise
Location: Wellington
Genres you write in: Realistic fiction (if that's the right term) and non-fiction
Current work in progress: Mainly short stories at the moment, but intending to kick off a novel for SoCNoC. My non-fiction is musings organised around accounts of walks that I do.
What do you do when you're not writing?: I think about writing! Quite often I knit and think about writing at the same time. Or knit and think about nothing at all. I'm also into walking, gardening and drinking quality beer. And I work full time unfortunately.

Name*: Jess (cobaltblue on the old site. I didn't get around much tho)
Location: rural Australia
Genres you write in: Usually either urban fantasy or post-apocalyptic
Current work in progress: A webserial/webnovel, Lives of the Nightscape... though I really need to update the snyopsis. It mutated in the second chapter, and now follows the dysfunctional group - an enforcer for the local library, which stores dangerous magical tomes, and who feeds off warmth and sees primarily in heat signatures; his partner, who is actually very normal, and her cousin, whose mind was invaded by the living personification of Nightmare - as they track down the threat that's killing the Godchildren.
What do you do when you're not writing: All the boring stuff, like listening to music, watching DVDs (no TV reception!), surfing the net... daydream, think about writing... yeah, it's so exciting. My real passion in life is writing!

What do you do when you're not writing?: I am a stay at home dad to a two year old bundle of energy. In my spare time I am a full time student at the University of Auckland (English Lit / History) so in reality I don't tend to have much time to write... ((poor me!))

Genres you write in: Fantasy, Historical fiction, sometimes a mix of the two with a little romance thrown in for fun! Maybe sci-fi again sometime.
Current work in progress: revamping Nano 09 in preparation to rewrite for SoCNoC.
What do you do when you're not writing?: Read fiction, read books on writing, read scriptures. Raise my family of four wonderful kids (the oldest of which is currently serving a mission for our church)! Spend time with my best friend/husband of 20 plus years. Hike, walk, bicycle, stay active. Think about writing. Watch a little TV, while I read or write!

Welcome back, Dean and Pamela! Dean, I'd love to be studying History and English Lit. I bet it's fascinating. :) Pam, I always like a story with a little romance thrown in. It spices things up and good luck for SoCNoC.
