So you want to be a member of the Chapter One Rewrite Club? It's easy! All you need is a blog (or a place online), and a little madness to join this exclusive group. The point? The Rewrite Club takes famous books, and rewrites the first chapter in their own style. This time around the Rewrite Club is tackling that most famous fantasy novel; Lord of the Rings.

The Rules
There are two stages to this challenge;
1. Rewrite chapter one of Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring).
2. Post your efforts online, at your blog, or some other online place, and link it from the main post for the challenge.
Your result doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be done. The point of this challenge is fun, and to see what other people come up with.
There is no word goal (although Chapter 1 of LotRs is fairly long), you can cut or add what you feel is required for your style or treatment of Tolkien.
When you have finished writing, and have posted it online, and told people, then you have completed this challenge, and joined the illustrious company of the Chapter One Rewrite Club.
