Hey all - sad, sad news today, especially for those who were big fans of "The Wheel of Time" fantasy series.
Jordan was working on the 12th in the series and thought that he could finish it in 2 more. This News Article came out just 2 hours ago. Sorry about this guys, but thought you would all be interested. Travis 18 Sep 2007 10:10:50 |

Wow!!
I had heard it was a good series, but as advised not to start reading it until it was finished....Very sad news for all those who loved his work. 18 Sep 2007 11:08:44 |

I found out via Neil Gaiman and Larissa Ione. I have read all of the Wheel of Time books and am eagerly awaiting the 12th.
Neil and Larissa pointed to Wikipedia and Digg. Sad times and not just because of his books. 18 Sep 2007 11:16:58

Well, since I didn't know the guy, the books were all I had. :)
That news article says a lot about his life. He served in Viet Nam, and was a decorated soldier. He also had a rare blood disorder. He sounded like quite a guy. 18 Sep 2007 11:31:19 |

That is totally amazing in a really really bad way.
An excellent author, but it annoyed me that he didn't recap in the beginning of his novels... I don't know...I didn't read the whole article, but Gods bless that man's spirit. 21 Sep 2007 05:35:05

Kerryn.... How many times did I say that Robert Jordan had better hurry up and finish the series in case he ran out of time....
Sigh... very sad to hear this! How will we ever know what happens now??? 09 Oct 2007 09:38:18

He already knew how the story would end and he wrote the last chapter before he died. I feel pretty certain that someone, probably family, will pick it up and finish it.
