My husband didn't finish work until 8pm but still found time to pick up a Victoria cream sponge from Pak 'n save.
Having some for breakfast!

Sorry you were sick cassie. I was tempted to stay in bed and read the last Catherine Cookson book she wrote. I thought I had read all of her books in the past. This one called The Silent Woman she had in her head but through suffering from ME and old age, found it difficult to write. Her husband suggested taping it, she did so even though her voice gave out quite often and managed to get down 800 odd pages within a month.
However I started it last night. Gives one aspiration to keep going, eh?

Read the fly leaf about Catherine Cookson. Died in 1998, at the age of 94, this last book was published in 2001. So she must have written it in her nineties!
She started writing in her forties, coming out of a nervous breakdown. In her real life she always thought Kate was her sister, but found out she was born illigitiment (not sure of spelling) and Kate was her Mother. Quite a shocking thing in the fifties.
Her first book Kate Hanigan was about her life, finding out about her birthright. She had written 104 books, think I've read most of them. :)
