Ah Christmas, you gotta love it or hate it! You have a week to do a 2,500 word short story challenge on Christmas past, or present. (that's the part I like best, the presents :)
So if you are organised for Christmas and feel you want to keep on writing, it's up to you. The theme, Peace and Goodwill. On the members challenge. 15 Dec 2007 18:06:11

Cassie you've finished, well done!
I've got to back over the childhood times. Forgot about how we used to follow the truck that held the Salvation Army band playing Christmas Carols. Kids were safe on the street then, and it was exciting being out at night, with my two brothers, one doubling me on the bar of his push bike. 18 Dec 2007 17:56:11

That does sound like fun.
I kind of started and finished last night and it turned into more of a rant than anything else! But boy did I need it.... 18 Dec 2007 22:20:56 |

ha, that's good. Saves someone else copping it!
Quite an interesting perspective, I find, how Christmas changes with the years. All magic and anticipation when you are young. Following tradition when you are an adult. Becoming more spiritual, more aware of the meaning of Christmas when older again. Now I find it is a bit ho hum rather than ho ho, maybe because neither of us have parents still alive and family living away, that have their own families. I told my husband he can do Christmas this year. Will be interesting, he can't cook. :) 18 Dec 2007 22:53:48

hehe that should be interesting indeed!
Its been a long time since I really enjoyed Christmas, for starters it's not my religion so that cuts out half the meaning for it, but seeing as my folks are divorced as well it means my time is always split, and since meeting my lovely fiance we've had our time split again so that we make sure his daughter sees her mothers side of the family... This year we have to squeeze my two sets of parents in, and his parents during breakfast/lunch, and then we have to drop our little one off directly after that... gah! Logistics, logistics logistics logistics! there is no relaxation at Christmas. 19 Dec 2007 08:18:14 |

Few days late in starting, that will teach me to not bother checking the site but I will do it over the weekend.
Plus my christmas is different because I moved countries and have fun telling people how strangely they celebrate! Is anyone going to post their story? I might put mine up on my pbwiki. Wonder if I can do two and do one from my cats perspective. LOL. 19 Dec 2007 09:46:02

You and your cats lol. I don't think mine would really know it was any different from any other day! But then they have been waking me up way too early so there are certainly not going to be any treats.
I love hearing about the different ways in which people celebrate Christmas, or any festival/celebration/event really, there are so many ways in which things can be done. 19 Dec 2007 11:39:54 |

My cats think it's Christmas everyday.
In Pussy Footing Around. Runty overheard the bread winner say, he's going to buy pet steaks for the dogs for Christmas dinner. Runty told the other cats "I suppose we will get 'Chef' with a wrapper that says Turkey Christmas Dinner, when It's the same old crap we get everyday, just a different label." he is very perceptive is our Runty. :) 19 Dec 2007 16:28:16

My kitties are totally nuts and cute.
Sadly (or happily) our fish are dying off. We bought them all at the same time and well the life span seems to be running out, SOO hubby suggested we feed the catfish to the cat for christmas, (12 inch long thing). If it actually happens they will be sooo happy, or else they will get the Fancy Feast salmon dinner. They go nuts for this stuff, we had to stop buying the dry food Fancy Feast as treats because Gabby (my runt) kept eating through the plastic ziplock bags to get more. I named it Kitty Crack since she just went totally insane for the stuff. I will finally get my new MP3 player YAY! Music again and will do videos too. 20 Dec 2007 10:17:30
