I'm going to give it a go. I've got work, an Easter Egg hunt, two essays and my one year anniversary with the darling boyfriend on the weekend as well, but who needs sleep anyway?

I'm going to accept this one to kick start me back to working on my story from SocNoc last year - would dearly love to finish it at some point!

Great! ophelia, I feel like a bit of a slacker not signing up after all the stuff you will be juggling. I will be home by myself for Friday - Sunday with only my editing to keep me company. I'm sure that I will have enough time to write something too. :)
Great goal, angellic! 20 Mar 2008 15:41:37

Phew! I've heartily abandoned my coursework, and managed to spit out 1000 words this evening. Here's hoping I can up my speed these coming days ...

Omg I've done nothing so far! Better get cracking! So hard since I'm working like all weekend, but if I can at least start that's something right?

I forgot just how much editing I had schedule for this weekend! 2 hours done, 3 to go for today. I do have a story idea though so I might get something done on it tonight.

I'm vaguely cheating (no surprise there) as I'm finishing off my March Madness story. I reckon it will take about 6000 words to finish. If I'm short, I'll add in more gruesome bits ...
Hee hee. I'm just about to completely pull the rug out from under my readers with an unexpected thingy-me-whatsit. It's really weird actually being in control of a narrative, and telling it what to do, rather than the other way around. 22 Mar 2008 22:02:10 |

I am so over editing right now! An idea I had in January is calling to me so I think I'm going to pull out that and start. Yes, start.
Great work to those who have words on the board! 23 Mar 2008 18:53:56

I'm flunking out. I've really needed a day to refill my creative mind and am only now thinking that I might be able to do a little more editing... maybe... if I feel like it.
Congrats to those that are still going! 24 Mar 2008 16:49:40

Heh. That was fun - though the last 2000 words were almost all padding, featuring an extremely long winded account by the nefarious causer of bad things about WHY and HOW bad things were happening. But amongst the death and nastiness I managed to sneak in a reference to Joesph Conrad, so I regard that as work well done. The 6000 words from this challenge, added to the 10K from March Madness gives me a very silly, but grisly, 16K story. This is the third piece of substntial writing I have completed in the last 12 months. It is VERY UNLIKELY that any of them would have been done if it hadn't been for the challenges being set here. I am very grateful. 24 Mar 2008 22:37:50 |

Well done on finishing Lurgee! it's great feedback to know that the challenges on the site are helping people to get writing done. Makes all the staff feel warm and fuzzy I know! lol

Good on you Lurgee.
I was not very good with this challenge. I baked banana muffins, cleaned the house, played WOW and Sims2, went to the river with our 2 dogs, put things to sell of Trademe, and so much other stuff. I did some writing - evne some for the challenge. I am still editing my now finished NaNoWrimo novel. If I keep trying challenges, maybe one day I finish one of time. 25 Mar 2008 08:46:27

Congrats to all!
I totally flunked.. the one and only day off that I had over easter I spent having coffee with a friend and then hours and hours of shopping. Maybe if I'd taken this challenge more seriously I would still have some money in my bank account... but then I wouldn't have all this cool new stuff, not to mention the relaxing benefits of retail therapy! All I can say is this: Man it is so difficult to fit writing into a busy life, but thank god for kiwiwriters reminding and inspiring us all! :D Jane 29 Mar 2008 09:07:01
