Anyone in?

I was working on a story in the pub the other day when I had the sudden realisation that it ought to be a play. And then I find out that Script Frenzy is on in April. Serendipitous?

Yeah, 100 pages - it's actually not as big as it sounds when you use script formatting.
I'm in for it, made the firm decision to go ahead! yay, will be loads of fun.

Go for it! I'm definitely interested in doing it one year, but this year may not be it.

Hey Kerry, if you're interested, doesn't your signature say "No Excuses, Just Write"??

Cassie's right about the 100 pages. I just downloaded some of the script formatting software from Script Frenzy and it doesn't look like you get many words to a page. Although, I suppose a lot of it is dialogue. A real challenge!

The beautiful thing about dialogue is that it normally doesn't go all the way to the edges of the page, its in blocks in the centre of the page which cuts down again on the amount of actual writing! lol
It's a fun process, lots of fun.

lividlili, you got me! Though I think it should say 'No Excuses, Just Edit' at the moment. :) I am very tempted, especially because the quantity is quite low.

I am thinking about doing it just for a change of scene ..LOL Maybe the different way of looking at writing a script might help me. I know a NaNO buddy of mine did it last year and not sure if he will be doing it again this year.
I have some software already, should spend some time getting to know it.
I forget what it is called but a friend had it and no longer wanted it.

I have no clue what I am going to do though *sighs* which is a first.

Well there are still a few days, I am sure you'll get an idea :-) they have a generator on the site don't they? Flick through and pull some random ideas into a storyline maybe?

I found a great site for scripts of TV shows: http://www.twiztv.com/

I was checking out Gilmore Girls. I might direct my script towards a Gilmore Girls meets... something... Supernatural? He he, that would be fun.

I really don't have the pressure to write something that might be saleable since it's scripts and not novels. Fun!

Ok, from the above advice I went to the script frenzy site and looked at the plot generator. Hrmm so I guess I am in now. I have a nickname of the Ducklord and just love ducks and rubber ducks so anything duck related gets me in.. Which is why my the plot that was given by the generator just had be on the floor laughing, it was the first one displayed and after 100 clicks I could not get the middle part of it to come up again.

While standing in line for a Wii
a duck with a deathwish
finds a new use for spray cheese.

I do want a Wii, the duck just had me laughing and I am a huge cheese eater.
I think the plot generator has to be run supernaturally..LOL
I think my script is going to be very strange, but then again that is nothing new for me.

I think my duck is going to be a time traveller. Finding out that the spray cheese is acutally some alien DNA that can cause him to jump through time. Oh just so you are aware it is a guy called Duck rather then a real duck coz well that would just be too weird even for me. Unless the duck was someones pet and it was standing in line for a Wii with its owner.. hrmm ok maybe the duck really is a feathered creature after all..LOL
SO I guess I am really in now.

You are funny xengab. :)
I had a guy (quirky artist) come into work today, and asked if I was interested in reading a funny piece to form into a three act script, and we are to act it out between us at his exhibition in May. So this could be my project for scriptfrenzy in April. !!

xengab, that's hilarious! I've decided not to go with the beginning I had done for an assignment a couple years ago and was thinking of doing something more like Gilmore Girls crossed with Supernatural.

I looked to the Plot Machine for some inspiration and this is what I got that I liked:

After a traumatic run-in with a gopher
a bike messenger with a death wish
can only be seen by toddlers

Or

Unable to find true love
a god of the underworld
washes up on the shores of Zombie island

This could become very addictive.

That plot machine once again amazed me today..I got
After being bitten by rabid pengiuns
A duck with a deathwish
joins a group of undercover magicians.

It is weird as I sat around yesterday clicking on the stupid plot machine and 300 clicks later I got a duck with a deathwish plot. Then I login in today and the above plot was the one being displayed!
So I think I am going to mix the two together and use all the ideas.

Good luck to everyone!
