According to The Southland Times 24/08/07. A record number of entries have been received for the young writer category of the BNZ Katherine Mansfield award.
A total of 411 entries have been received, a 180% increase on last year.
Judge Margaret Mahy said, "the quality of entries was quite outstanding."
BNZ head of corporate relations Fiona Cooper Clarke said the increase in entries was a sign the nation's writing was in good health.
The awards will be announced on October 4th at the N.Z. Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington.

Good for you angeldreams for entering. Like lotto you have to be in to win, but it doesn't seem to work most times (with lotto that is.)

Oooh, I read the 'what the judges are looking for' section of that and was entirely intimidated. I didn't enter. Maybe next time around.
