National Novel Finishing Month, also known as, NaNoFiMo sets a goal of 30,000 words in a month for writers to finish a novel. The boards are now open and the welcome email goes something like this...

"The boards are open for the 2007 NaNoFiMo challenge. Whether you're aiming to finish this year's Nano or an old project, or just to hang out with other writers, please stop by the forums and say hi! New user registration is now open, so you can share the FiMo love with your friends. We're also looking for a few moderators to keep an eye out for spammers, so if you're interested, let me know. Welcome back, and good luck!"

Oh dear there's no rest for the wicked, and not much for the good. :)

I attempted it last year but failed miserably. This year I only need 10-15K to finish the story so am passing on it again.

Me too, the first thing I need to do is cut about 10k in subplots that don't work. Then I need to fill in the gaps.
Then I need to put it aside for a while.

I can't believe that I sat here the day after nano, and worked on the story some more!
