So, who's editing?

SoCNoC is almost finished. There have been many words written, some in style, many in a rush but most while having fun.

But there can be a more serious side. If you're thinking of tidying up that strange scene with the multicoloured walrus, adding a new love interest or completely cutting out that rambling speech about "How the Ants saved the World!" then editing is for you.

Who's going to do it, either now, later or in a few months after the whole thing has settled and fermented?

I'll definitely be editing, though I am planning on editing last years nano before I edit this one. It's had it's time to sit and ferment and I am getting quite excited about the changes to be made.
This one will probably have its time to shine in about six months or so when I've forgotten all the details and can look at it at a fresh eye.

I edit quite a bit as I go. Once I've finished the last bit, I'll have one read through from beginning to end.
If it seems okay and lacking any major plot holes, I'll print it out and give it to a trusted reader.
This will give me a break from it before I go back to do the full on sentence by sentence grammar and spelling check.

Will edit for sure, but first must finish the novel. I hit the 50k mark in the middle of an important scene and must complete and do a wrap up.

I know I can get rid of tens of thousands of words, but have to replace them with something better.

I'm keen to write every day now, although don't know how it will work without word wars!

Editing wars anyone? :-)

I edited most of my novel from NaNo in March during NaNoEdMo. I was to edit this one too, mainly because I think it has more potential than most of the other novels I've written. Or maybe it will just need less editing than those one. Hm.

Anyway, I have to finish it first! :)

I've already done a typo check and gone through and circled places which need changing/improving. I haven't actually tried to rewrite anything yet, though. I'm going to give it to my friends to read and see what they say first. I need some distance from the story, and I'll get that while they're busy reading.
