Post November, it looked like quite a few of the Palmy nano-ers were keen on meeting up again, on a monthly basis, to continue to motivate / support / appreciate each other. I haven't heard anything about this being brought to fruition, however. Did I miss an email or has it been overlooked in the frenzy of Christmas / New Year celebration?
I hope we can pull it off. Is there anyone out there who knows what is going on? 02 Jan 2008 23:45:14 |

Hey Lurgee,
I haven't heard anything since Dec either. I think with the full on xmas and New Years it's all been forgotten. But, I am keen to meet up, so hopefully we'll hear something soon and comence our monthly meets in Feb. 10 Jan 2008 15:09:25 |

If you guys don't hear from whoever you're waiting for, why don't you organise one yourselves :-)
It'd be great, the first KiwiWriters meet-up outside of Wellington!!! Actually, we haven't really had a proper meet-up, except for all our word-wars last SoCNoC. 11 Jan 2008 00:09:40

Ruth was meant to be organising things, and she has all the email addresses, I think. Give her a nudge if you see her at Massey.

I will. We've got a contact course Mon-Wed which she'll be at so I'll talk to her then. :) I think Robert Harris will be missing us. (And I miss the good excuse for really nice coffee lol)

Hi all,
I have been offline for a bit. I am in for a meet up. I have only just seen the novella challenge too. Might have to give this one a miss. I have a lot of work to catch up on. 14 Jan 2008 07:47:22

Hope so.
My 'reader' loved my nano novel and said that she could just see these groups of people running around the science towers and being picked off ONE by ONE. I would love to get my first Nano published 'Crossed Daggers' but since it is science fiction I would have to do that overseas and I have no idea on how to do that. It will also need a bit more editing before then. I already have a thought about SocNoc. One hint I would give everyone is to write these thoughts down, good fodder for short story challenges. But at the moment my manuscripts to do with evolution are screaming at me louder than the ones on murder. Darn. The fun part is that in Feb I have to go on a researchers away-day. It too makes good fodder, 'a bus full of scientists heading to a winery, what can go wrong? and they are picked off ONE by ONE' oops no, will have to use something different. (((evil mad scientist chuckle)))) 16 Jan 2008 07:58:45

He he you are a card!
My nano was about fellow students. They love it, want it published. The trouble is I have their true characters down to a T in it. One in particular I did not like would not be impressed. Told the others not to show it to her, maybe they should, let her see what a P.I.T.A she is. :) 16 Jan 2008 11:22:14

Hmmm. Given the short lead time, lets make it the second saturday in February. Otherwise, people won't know until it is too late.
I disorganised something, heh. 24 Feb 2008 00:08:20 |

I suspect our numbers will be few. I still haven't seen an email from Ruth, so it might just be those browsing here. Still, a cup of proper coffee and a laugh at ourselves will be good.

Because of stupid massey having all the good papers by extramural this year I'm stuck at contact courses all Easter "Holidays" so I won't be able to make it to the April meet-up. I am very gutted. So everyone else will just have to drink a coffee and have lots of fun for me ;). Have a blast :).
Oh, and is someone able to contact VictoriaAnne at all, I directed her to this site and she never seems to have made it. Does Ruth have her email too??? 13 Mar 2008 21:13:29 |
