Do we have any expert threads?
I need to know how plausible it is to have someone in an induced coma for several weeks (to reduce long term impact of head injury) then to be only semi conscious and in and out of lucidity for several weeks after that, but! (and, like mine, it's a big but) she also needs to make a full recovery - that can be a fairly slow process, but she needs to be up and functioning after say 5-6 months. 03 Jun 2007 10:56:56

Sorry maggenpye, doesn't look like we have a doctor in the house. Just mark it up as [*needs research*] and go back to it.
I imagine you've already done something since this was a few days ago. Let us know how you got past this? 06 Jun 2007 22:34:50

I expected Jane (angellic), the nurse to pop up and say, "Doctor? What do we need a doctor for? That's a simple question!", but no!

It's okay really, I've got a couple of good friends who are in the profession. It's just that they're both very busy and it's going to be another week or so before I can grapple them to the ground and beat the answers out of them.
I'm fairly sure I can get away with this as long as the victim is already receiving medical attention when the head injury symptoms start up. I'm basing the recovery time on someone I know who had a close call with meningitis and the docs kept saying it was the same as a head injury - it took weeks to get back on her feet and over a year for the full recovery. She's fine now. Thanks for your replies. 07 Jun 2007 12:37:51
