Hi everyone. Just thought I'd let people know to post here in this forum if they have a question or information about the site.

Any suggestions, bugs (*andy hides in shame*) or just general happiness (*andy appears again*), then let us know right here.

Hi andy

This is in response to the topic i posted yesterday. There's no reply button at the top, it just says "sign in" despite the fact i'm signed in and can post on other topics(like the one you've put here). This happens all the time, not just once off - perhaps something wrong with my browser?

This could be one of two things. Either the proxy you are using is caching the non-logged in page or your browser is (are you using IE6 or less?).

Go back to the page which shows 'Sign In' and press Ctrl-R (or Refresh, or F5, whatever IE uses for refresh). This should request the page again from the server. Let me know if this works.

Since this seems to be the place to ask...

the "My Page" implies we can put stuff up there - How? I mean, it's a great idea, but it should be a bit more useful than it stands now. And, when we click on a member, shouldn't it go to something the [person has put up (other than just the simple profile?

Hope there's some kind of answer, since I'd like to have this as a reference point...

Don't worry thepenguin we have plans to add more to the 'My Pages' area. It's just about having the time to do it. We are after all a very small volunteer group and the site has only just turned 2 months old!

There will also be more added to the profile section for each person as and when we get things going. In fact, watch this space... :-)

Not sure what you mean by having this as a reference point?

Hi Andy, great site. I've got the challenge widget - yay. I may change between the worm and kiwi daily.

I'm editing this post - yay! That can cover up a lot of hurried errors.

Finally, the question!

How do I get my username in my sig to go ORANGE? I like the look, I want it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi maggenpye,

Those orange bits are links so they stand out. If you have a site, why not link to that, or just link to your profile. Just like you used the 'img' tag for your banner, use the 'url' for your link.

You can also take a look at http://kiwiwriters.org/bbcode.html to see what else you can do - like making text go orange, red or blue.

Hi Andy, Still a bit unsure (well a lot actually) about how to add the widget to my posts. I go on the BBCode thingee, and not sure what to do from there. Thanks a bunch, if you can help.

Hi Andy,

Is it possible to change my goals total for The EIN challenge widget?

I've completed 3 of seven and I don't feel like a winner yet.

Hi maggenpye,

No, I'm afraid not since it's the target for everyone, not on an individual basis.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, just let people know on your progress topic (which I see you already have) and we'll just cheer as and when you've finished.

Also, why not edit your signature so you don't have your progress bar in it and just add it when you have finished all 7. Or just change your count back to zero and just put it at 7 when you've completed everything :-)

Basically, we just wanted to get people to do one thing and using the current challenge framework, that's the best way to do it.

I'm testing to see if I managed to catch my progress file as a signature.

We do have a couple problems with the signatures at the moment. Andy is doing his best to get them fixed asap. :)

Sorry hopefullily, I haven't been able to fix it yet ... I'll give everyone a shout on here once I do.

Thanks for your patience.

Aw thank you Palefox :-) it's lovely to get nice feedback. Andy does most of the work tho, I just help facilitate it.

Thanks palefox, it's our pleasure. As for you Cassie, thanks, but it's not true. You keep things ticking in ways that others don't. It's great that we have such a dedicated team, even if it is small :-)

Oh, just in case some of you guys haven't noticed, as well as fixing the signatures and the timezones, I have also put up a word total on the KW front page!

Phew! Maybe I'll actually start writing some words now (currently 1,284).

Ah...it seems that the fix includes a retrofix. Now my prior multiple posts attempting to get the signature right look even more stupid. Well, it can't be helped, and I suppose they'll be there until the end of time, because This Is The Internet, and therefore every word we write is written in stone. But Andy, feel free to delete them.

I'll try the time zone thingie again.
