It's about time I stopped lurking and introduced myself properly.

Hello, I'm Michal. I'm one of the few females studying Computer Science, and also Mathematics.

After a couple of years break from writing (since my last high school English assignment), I was wandering around the NaNo site just before midnight heading into Nov 1st. Suddenly there was a character who wouldn't leave me alone, and so I started writing again. And haven't yet stopped.

Hi mikethegirl! It's great to have you on board. You haven't stopped because writing is fun! I hope you find Kiwi Writers a supportive, inspiring place for your writing. :)

Hi Michal. Computer Science sounds interesting. My husband is a Maths tutor, he loves it!
So did you finish Nano? What sort of writing genre do you do?

I finished NaNo with just over 30K, so didn't earn a winner's certificate. However, I wasn't too disappointed as that was more than I had written before in one piece of writing, and more than I'd ever written in that period of time.

In terms of genre, I'm still figuring what defines each genre as I haven't spent much time looking at them before.

I also work as a Maths tutor part time. It's good fun. So is writing.

Hi Michal, glad to have you around. By you, I mean another IT type person :-) Hmm, and because you're a writer too!

Have fun and happy writing.

I majored in computer science for two very long semesters before writing took over my life (and my schooling). Best of luck to you in doing both! :-)
