Hello
Mikethegirl just drew this site to my attention so I thought I should probably join too:-) I recently attempted my first NaNo and while I didn't finish due to external dramas it made me remember how much I love writing. I'm always creating, but my goldfish-like attention span has me constantly hopping from drawing to drama to music to languages to writing to photography to whatever else as an outlet to my creativity so nothing much has ever come of the things I create. Having a website like this as a real solid (well as solid as something virtual can be) outlet helps my photography, so why not my writing? I'd like to give it a go :) Thanks for having me! 14 Feb 2008 00:03:53 |

Hey welcome to the site, we are happy to have you! sounds like you are super creative with all the different kinds of things you do, I think it's fantastic to have so many passions. Hopefully the site helps you to keep at your writing like you hope it will :-)

Hello!
Having a website like this has helped in keeping me writing reasonably regularly for 3.5 months so far, long may it continue. 14 Feb 2008 10:50:20 |

Hi theodamus, welcome to the site.
I understand your hopping to each creative activity. I've been doing that for a long time. Recently finding this niche of writing stories instead of telling has been good for me. It's thanks mostly through kiwiwriters collection of other like minded enthusiasts have helped me to settle, and enjoy what I do. I see you are living in Auckland (and hating it). I disliked it while living there, some things I miss, but certainly not the traffic, oh.... and ants and humidity. See you on the challenges list. :) 14 Feb 2008 14:51:03

Yep, welcome aboard. It sounds like you and I share a few things, lots of things to do and not necessarily focussing on one thing (I'm sure it's a curse, in fact, I know it).
As you say though, having KiwiWriters helps focus the mind a little more. Still, I like playing with other stuff too :-) 14 Feb 2008 20:50:52

Thanks for the welcomes! gaye-belle, thanks for sympathising...yea Auckland is not my scene...the humidity drives me mental, it's been nightmarish this summer! I'm here to study so only one more year to go! Andy, I see you live in wellington, you have no idea how much I envy you...always homesick for Wellington. But I'm glad that people understand what I mean about the hopping from thing to thing. Nice to meet you all and here's to some focus on writing :)

theodamus, I'm sure you'll be back in Wellington one day, though I think to appreciate a place you have to have been without it (or been lots of other places) before you truely know what you're missing :-) Don't worry, you'll get back when the time is right.
Thanks for bringing it up Gaye - no valentine dinner for me 'coz no valentine! Ah well, there's always next year. Then again, if I think Christmas is too commercialised you can imagine what I think of Valentine's Day. 15 Feb 2008 23:07:40
