Yarrrr!
I've been lurking in this forum for a little while and thought I might as well join up. I'm quite young compared to many of you, I think (23) and I write speculative fiction. I've had a little success with short stories and articles (sold one to Strange Horizons, yarrrr!) I'm currently working on my third novel while I wait for Voyager HarperCollins to get back to me on my first novel and while I try and find a publishing house for my second.
Hope to talk to you all soon!

Hey welcome to the forum :-) We actually have quite a range of ages around here which is nice. Sounds like you've been busy with getting your work out there! Looking forward to hearing more from you :-)

Hey lysistrata and welcome! I just turned 24 last week and there are a few others around in their twenties so you're not the spring chicken you think! :)

Congrats on submitting your first novel. I'm still working on getting a novel up to submission quality. Keep us posted on how your submitting goes!

You consider 23 young? Yay, I'm not as old as I thought! I'm 23 too.

Congratulations on your success. I have one question though, what is speculative fiction?

I turned 24 a couple weeks ago. :)

Here's the speculative fiction entry from Wikipedia. It seems to encompass fantasy, science fiction, paranormal and horror where there are elements that are based on speculation rather than fact or science compared to our current world.
