The internet has provided writers with the perfect way to communicate from anywhere in the world. By writing!

Come on the Writer Group Crawl and every one or two weeks visit a different writer community.

Share the communities you visit and interesting links, topics and discussions you come across here.

Share the love for Kiwi Writers as well and link to us in your signature when you're travelling through the forums.

Cool Idea. I think I might start at the bottom of your list and work my way up so I am not at the same places you are :) I will try and find a few others that might be open to the experience.

I have started at Fiction factor as the one listed at the bottom the page refused to let me sign up..HA Must seem my reputation preceeds me..LOL

I am really enjoying my stay at Fiction Factor, I feel less freaky/quirky now.
Lots of friendly writers from Australia too, I just giggled myself silly over the word Jaffa! I havent had one of those in about 8 years.

I tuned into Leafsalon. All very serious stuff.
Looked in 'off topic' and was interested in a political debate.
A guy called 'Islander' sounds interesting was commenting too on Maori meanings of words and how the word can be different sounding in each tribes.

It sounds like you've found some interesting stuff.

Disgracefully I haven't been back to the Will Write for Wine forums since posting this! I might go visit now. :)

I forgot I had signed up to Notebook in Hand, and thinking it was basically an Australian site, I offered them Pavlova, with kiwi fruit on introduction.
Came back recently and all these welcomes offering food. I had to laugh. Entered a poll of age types, mostly 17-24, only one over 50, hmmm wonder who that is, but they are a friendly if crazy bunch.

I dropped back into Will Write for Wine and found lots of friendly welcomes. I poked my nose around a bit more and had a nice time. :)

xengab, I know what you mean. I think there is an element of self control here to visit one a week or every two weeks and keep cycling through like that.

I think that after exploring a large number you'll find a few that really suit and you will get around them quicker.

Hm. For me, my problem is the tendency to "appear for a week, then disappear for a month" whenever I'm in a forum/community (as you can probably tell from my random bursts of posts here and there). Might either just stick to KW, or go look for a LJ community on writing somewhere, since I check LJ pretty regularly. I do know I have an account at Forward Motion, but I have yet to use it. *ahem* So it's there in case I need it :D

Just random question, what does everyone think of writing.com community/forums? I also have an account there, but it always seems to look too time-consuming and complicated for me to use.

Headed to Note book in Hand, signed up and introduced myself. I could not find many posts about writing just mainly fanfics..hehe
The writers notebook is also writing software. I have tried it out and did not like it.
I think "I should be writing" will be my next port of call since that is what I am meant to be doing.

I said gidday to you xengab as already registered on 'Notebook in Hand'.
Joined 'I Should be Writing' as it seems to concentrate on the subjects of writing. Had a look at others but I'll stick with Kiwiwriters. :)

Tried to join LeafSalon, but you require an admin's approval to be activated, and that hasn't happened so far.

Oh, well ... I put forth the group which makes up most of my procrastination: Deus Ex Machina Forums. Primarily fantasy-centric, full of primarily egocentric youth. Terrible fun. Visit if you dare! :D

I've just signed up over at the To Boldy NaNo forums and it looks like they have a real diversity of discussion.
