This sounds like fun, so I just spent an hour trying to work out Jabber on my Mac. I think I've finally got it, but the chatroom was empty so not 100% sure. I'll try tomorrow evening & hope someone's about. If it works I'll put how I did it on the forum that gives instructions for PCs.

I'll go in there tonight and at least post a new message so you know it's the right place. :) I'm usually online between 7 and 9pm.
