When I decided to do wwwW this year I recall my thinking being something along the lines of writing will be a great break from editing. *cough*
My three and a half week break over Christmas and New Year has given me a better writing / life balance. However, this does mean writing 7,500 words, editing pages and working will be a challenge. Maybe I'll do a repeat of last year and write 6,000 words on the Sunday. *grin* 03 Feb 2008 12:31:18 |

*gets out calculator* 1,500 a day? ...sounds alright. Now, when's Waitangi Day? *looks at calendar*..... omg, it's THIS Wednesday!! ...wow.
That seems like what I may end up doing too, Kerryn. School is starting for me on the 7th, I've got a heap of summer work and tests I haven't started working on (ohgodohgod), let's see if I can manage 7.5K, especially on the Sunday!! 03 Feb 2008 22:11:29 |

lol I'm sure you will both do fine :-) just chip away at it, same as anything else. The thing with wwww is that it's less words than Nano, but shorter, so you have less time to recover from any days when you don't write.
Still unsure whether I will participate, no ideas that desperately want to get onto paper have sprung to mind, so I might skip it and focus on the wedding stuff. We'll see ;-) 04 Feb 2008 08:06:08

I might have to give this one a miss. I am out of town for the 7-9th leaving the 6th to write my talks for the 7-9th and the 10th to clean up the mess at home. But you never know. I might jot something down and if it is anywhere close then sign up late.
Is it possible to do that, I mean sign up on the last day? 04 Feb 2008 08:11:08

I'm also a bit concerned about how I'm gonna cram in my 7500 words. I had already signed up when I realised that my exam is next week, and I really really need to study.
But, I'm still gonna give it a shot. I've had a short story banging around in my head for about a year, so this will be a good chance to get it on paper. I will have to be sure I don't fall behind in my daily word count cos a mad dash on Sunday isn't an option. I work all day! :-0 I shall try stay on top of it! Good luck to you all :-) 04 Feb 2008 19:56:02

Think I will be joining this group.
Have been housepainting and today fence painting absolutely tired out. Managed to fizzle at doing 788 words tonight, and the story is utter dribble. Yawning off to bed, once I've scrubbed all this paint off my legs, think there's more on me than the fences. :) 08 Feb 2008 23:21:12

It's official. I have not started and nor will I be starting.
My goal today is to get as much of Butterfly Sisters through its second rewrite. I'm going out to Martinborough tomorrow for a day out with friends and to enjoy Goldenhorse, Brooke Fraser and Anika Moa at the Winery Concert Tour. Good luck to all of you still writing! 09 Feb 2008 14:32:01 |

Hope you enjoy kerryn, you need some time out.
I don't think I will persevere with The little steam engine (who is nothing like Thomas by the way.) I've done the novella and submitted a play script, so started well for the new year. Getting things done round the house while the weather holds has more priority. While my husband keeps building fences and gates, I keep painting, but the rain is on its way. 09 Feb 2008 16:55:59

I think I shall have to join this group after all!
It is rather late on Saturday night and I have not written a single word! Although, I have had two nights of very little sleep due to the secret art of cake making without the birthday girl noticing! All has gone well with the birthday do, an they are now 'quietly' in front of a film and I hoping sleep is not too far around the corner :-D It is the actual birthday tomorrow, so I am unlikely to get much time to write, so I think I'll have to sit this one out - Good luck to everyone still hanging in there! :-) For a little a sneek and the cake creation check out my blog - just for fun :-) http://www.onplanetjen.wordpress.com - 10 Feb 2008 02:03:23
