With winter looming it’s the perfect time to be snuggled up with your laptop or notebook under a blanket and with a hot drink to hand escaping into a novel. Your novel, that is. Sign up for SoCNoC now to write a 50,000 word novel in June. If real life just isn’t going to allow you 1-2 hours each day to pound out 1,666 words sign up for HalfNoC and tackle 25,000 words.
One of the great things about writing is the diversity. From revising novels to writing short stories and experiment and learning all the while. Here at Kiwi Writers we celebrate that diversity and having brought you Evil Editors Unite in March we now turn to short stories in April.
Welcome to March, the month we set aside for the insane side of writing- Editing.
But first we much pay our respects to February and those brave writers who blogged their way through a whole week. Kudos to you and thankyou for the entertainment you provided us and the hard work you put in.
February signifies five years of being online and helping New Zealand writers connect, encourage and promote the art of writing. I would like to thank each and every member for making the site what it is today, without your love, support and ideas, the site would not be at the high standard it is now.
At the end of February we will be saying goodbye to one of our long term staff members Cassie Hart. She has been here from the beginning and has been one of the key people to make Kiwi Writers what it is today. Though she will continue to be around Kiwi Writers she will no longer be a staff member leaving the position of Publicist vacant.

Kiwi Writers came about because of a challenge - National Novel Writing Month. A group of us met during November, 2006, and had so much fun that we decided we didn't want that feeling to fade. Not long after, Kiwiwriters.org was born, and with it, a love of challenges.

For many it is a very busy month of family gatherings, friends having parties and lots of food being stuffed in.
Next year Kiwi Writers celebrates its 5th anniversary and as part of our celebration, we want to showcase some of YOUR work. Above all else, we value you, our members, and we want to give you the opportunity to share some of your writing with the rest of the world.
