It's Not Just About the Writing
Posted by: andychilton
Just a little earlier today I was writing in my lounge. This is the place I usually sit and write, except today it was slightly different.
I was sitting on my couch with my laptop on my little table, angellic was typing on an impromptu desktop on my coffee table, cottreau had his laptop with keyboard on the dining table, dutton switched from pen and paper to another laptop, at one stage cassie was on the webcam up in New Plymouth and kerrynangell popped by via jabber for the last wee while.
You see, all this writing malarkey isn't just about the writing. It's also about the social contact. So far this SoCNoC I have 'spoken' to people on forums, blogs, chat, IM, email, on the phone and in person. There are so many ways to contact people these days, that it's great to take advantage of it.
So why not pop by the KiwiWriters Room on Jabber. Usually there is one of us there and it's great to chat about your current status and accept a challenge or two.
All in all, this afternoon was a writing success with our numerous Word Wars (see Kerryn's post from yesterday). Almost 15,000 words were written between us this afternoon so that's a great leap in word count for all concerned.
Oh, and the muffins I made went down a treat. They're all gone.

The muffins looked fantastic, but I could only feast on them visually lol. It was great to be able to come along for a little bit! You guys helped me crack 30K.

And that was my best day by far so far in June.
