JaNoWriMo
January Novel Writing Month is NaNoWriMo in January. 50,000 words in 31 days. If you don’t like the Live Journal community you can check out JaNoWriMo over at Ymaka Domain.
FAWM
If you’re into music you could try February Album Writing Month. The goal is to write 14 songs in February. That’s about a song every two days.
NaNoEdMo
National Novel Editing Month is in March and offers the opportunity for NaNoWriMo participants to edit their novels as written in November as well as other novels with first draft novels. The goal is 50 hours of editing from 1-31 March.
JulNoWriMo
July Novel Writing Month has a goal to write 50,000 words in the month of July, giving 31 days, one more than NaNoWriMo in November.
The 3-Day Novel Contest
If a month is not enough of a challenge for you try The 3-Day Novel Contest. The goal is to write a novel during 1-3 September. You can register for the contest, costing US$50 with winners getting a publishing contract or just try it on your own.
Writing Week
If a month or 3-days doesn’t quiet fit your novel writing challenge from 22-28 October you have Writing Week. You can even pick your level of difficulty from Short Story (5,600), Novella (21,000) or Novel (49,000).
NaBloPoMo
National Blog Posting Month is in November with the goal of posting to your blog every day for the month. If you think a novel is a bit much then this might be for you. You never know, you might end of with tens of thousands of words.
NaPlWriMo
National Playwriting Month is also in November with the challenge of writing a play. Sound simple? For a novel writing this could be more of a challenge than NaNoWriMo.
NaNoFiMo
National Novel Finishing Month recognises that in the world of novels 50,000 words is on the short side. Following NaNoWriMo in November NaNoFiMo challenges you to add another 30,000 words to your novel in December.
NaNoWriYe
National Novel Writing Year challenges writers to write a number of words during the year. They have clubs for each writing goal from 50,000 words to 3,000,000 words and beyond. Validation is provided on a monthly basis and runs from 1 January to 31 December.
NaNoPubYe
National Novel Publishing Year gives writers the support to bring their manuscript from rough draft to sending it out for submission in a year long plan.
