The New Zealand Book Council provides amazing resources for writers including the events section providing a list of awards, grants and competitions in New Zealand and a calendar of upcoming events. It has lists of book groups and writers groups around the country as well as a comprehensive list of NZ Writers.
Booksellers New Zealand
"Booksellers New Zealand is committed to fostering a strong, efficient and professional book industry. We represent over 90% of New Zealand book publishers and booksellers." They host the NZ Post Book Awards and the Montana NZ Book Awards and have a Find A Publisher function by genre.
Book Publishers Association of New Zealand
BPANZ is a trade association of book publishers and distributors in New Zealand. For writers they provide information on book awards and a list of their members' sites, a list of publishers in New Zealand.
Romance Writers of New Zealand
Romance Writers of NZ was established in 1990 and provides information specifically to Romance writers. They run both short story and novel contests each year.
Science Fiction and Fantasy Associate of New Zealand
The centre of Science Fiction and Fantasy in New Zealand they provide information for Scifi and Fantasy writers as well as host the Sir Julius Vogel Awards.
